I send my heartfelt prayers to Jimmy and his family. After my husband nearly died this past year, this takes on a whole new meaning for me. I hope he can try to find some peace after this. And I hope all of us try harder to express our feelings for our loved ones in the future.

Discussion: Why no Women's Director at the East Nationals?

Ok..SSUSA I understand the economics of the situation...but also know that Fran was slammed with everything going on. Having a director that was women's division specific (not just a women...sigh) would have helped imho. I don't think that statement is an exaggeration? Everyone did a great job getting all the games in with the weather. I'm not belittling that at all..just saying at the 2 Nationals, World and TOC that representation would be logical.

With the rain delay/weather situation, it would have been so nice to have our info + it seems that for some reason, they won't have her come east at all (I don't think she was at the TOC either). That makes no sense at all. Especially when the women's division will be growing by 30-40% in the next 5yrs? If my coaching friends are right, we're going to have a huge 40+ showing in Phoenix!

I don't understand why we wouldn't have our National director at a National Tourney!? I know you guys don't believe this, but it's disrespectful to the women who were at that tourney and the director... Shouldn't we have the National Women's Director at all NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS?? That seems logical doesn't it?

Discussion: Who would be interested...

I'm going to get with Chris to see if we can get a tournament sanctioned for next year. It will probably be in the Midwest (I have access to several complexes here in Toledo, OH...many fun things to do very close by...Toledo Mudhens, Detroit Tigers (less than an hour away) Cedar Point amusement park etc). Would look at running most games on Saturday with finals early enough on Sunday for people to catch flights. Detroit Metro Airport is easy access for most towns...Please email me:

Thanks!!

In participating in a 40 and over co-ed tourney that wouldn't conflict with the other regularly scheduled events. I've been getting some feedback and there is quite a bit of interest....Chris..get with me on this. We may put one on the schedule for next summer in the midwest....
PLEASE lmk if you would be interested as a player etc...

Discussion: Any teams in the Midwest/East for women's 40?

Thanks Nancy! I know that there are several over 50 teams in MI. We are considering a team for next season here in Northwest OH and SW Michigan. We have 10 players just from our women's team that still plays "kid" USSSA! I hope that they explore the coed...We would have a team sitting and waiting to get into that!
