Sept. 26, 2022 DRB22 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Hows the new ball performing at worlds Dave? For what its worth I found the ball to be just fine. I personally only have 2 issues with the ball. 1) it gets ridiculously dirty after it hits the dirt/clay. I play 3rd in 55m's and 50m,so and its really hard to read the ball off the bat. 2) it can be very slick if you field it with a little dirt on the ball. Our team felt that the ball hit fine, i did hear a few hits where the ball sounded soft but overall it was fine. guys that were expected to hit hr's hit them with no issues, guys that don't didn't and I like that most of the mis hit hr's were kept down. The seams are a little flat but if they can fix the dirty retention issue this could be a gamer ball. |

April 6, 2021 DRB22 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Intentional walk used to nulify a dominate hitter. I played with a pick-up team several months back. Format was 4 games, 2 sat, 2 sun. After the first game I received 1 intentional walk then 5 unintentional/intentional pitch around walks the rest of the weekend. There was no one behind me to in the lineup to protect me and the strategy worked out great a few times for dbl plays. As a competitor I don't mind anyone trying to win a game if its done within the rules, plus I ended up with a 900+ bat avg that weekend..lol. |
March 26, 2021 DRB22 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Help with Suncoast customer service The new Diamonds are holding up well. |
March 4, 2021 DRB22 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Addias 2020 VS 2021 Suncoast Bats. I am swinging the '21 Balanced model now as well as the '19 balanced. The new Diamond is a tad hotter right from the get go. I never had the chance to swing the '20 model but have talked to people who have had then break relatively quickly. I believe that because I broke the red '19 2 pc in under 150 swings. The new Diamond feels great right out of the wrapper, won't need to break it in IMO, but well less than 50 bp swings if you feel you have to. I would go with the Diamond. |
Feb. 25, 2021 DRB22 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Tournament Structure Strictly speaking as a player, I much rather prefer to play against the same rating level even if its its a crossover in age..(playing a younger age preferred)Most of the guys I play with feel the same and that's why we will play down in age to get better games than weaker teams in our age group and give up an equalizer |

Dec. 7, 2020 DRB22 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2 pc vrs 1 pc titan- I have the '19 model, green with the black writing..also called the booger. I believe its the same bat just with the paint scheme flipped. But, my new gamers are the 2pc '19 Adidas Melee's, one is the balance 13" barrel and the other is the red 12" barrel, the wicked has turned into a bp/back-up bat |
Dec. 2, 2020 DRB22 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2 pc vrs 1 pc Nice, traded my red knob for a '19 Adidas red 2pc + cash. My #1 gamer, distance is ridiculous, hands down the best for me. The Wicked just has such a large sweet spot, plus mine has 500+ swings on it and no signs of slowing down. I do like the little extra whip with the 2pc's, just have to know have to contain it |
Dec. 2, 2020 DRB22 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2 pc vrs 1 pc I have no issue switching between 1pc and 2pc during a tournament, just depends on what I am feeling prior to that at bat. I find that my 1pc Wicked has a massive sweet spot, from just above the taper to about an inch from the end cap. |
Dec. 1, 2020 DRB22 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2 pc vrs 1 pc I do agree that the 1 pc bats tend to offer a larger sweet spot, ie: my Wicked has a massive sweet spot compared to my Melee's. I think that with the 2pc bats it takes a more consistent swing and very repeatable swing mechanics to consistently find the sweet spot vs the 1 pc. The 1 pc is much more forgiving with miss hits. While I tend to agree that its the magician not the wand, some wands are better than others..lol |

Nov. 17, 2020 DRB22 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Bat grip There are so many different types of grips, just have to find what works best for you. Personally, I drop my bottom hand pinky off the bat and overlap my top hand bottom two fingers over my lower hand...but, I swing for power |
Nov. 16, 2020 DRB22 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 3 and 1: Take the pitch or swing away? Haha, my team puts me in a spot in the line up to drive in runs, not walk...swing away all day! |
Nov. 16, 2020 DRB22 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Orange and white bases at first Well, I guess that really depends on level of play. I play first base at majors/majors plus. I set up next to the bag as the fielder is getting the ball, once the throw is made I place my rear foot on the bag and go to the ball. If I set up early with my foot on the bag before the ball is thrown, I have committed my body to a particular angle and much less able to adapt to a poor throw. Then once I read that the fielder is not going to make a throw, my foot never goes to the bag therefore GREATLY reducing any chance of injury to myself or the base runner, because my foot cant get stepped on and the base runner has access to both first base bags without risk of contact |
