Remember it's where the ball is not the player or his/her glove.

When the in field fly rule is in effect the batter is
automatically out if the ball is in fair territory weather
or not it's called by the umpire and the base runners are
on their own.
The base runners have to be tagged if they chose to try and
advance if the ball is not caught.

B.J.
The Huntsman Games with no border restrictions usually is separated into many divisions
with teams coming from all over all playing for medals gold, bronze and silver so it's
more of a relaxed atmosphere but yes there are those hard nose guys that sometimes
get out of hand and if handled correctly by the umpire can calm them down as to not
jeopardize their team and teammates. The umpire with help from the team managers can
keep those type of guys intact.
Stay safe and healthy

B.J....You are correct in that respect.
Their (HWSG) rules state that a team may bat an unlimited amount as long as the
players are on their roster and on the line up card given to the scorekeeper.
But in starting the game they must bat a minimum of 9 with an out in the 10th
spot until the 10th spot is filled with someone on their roster and on the lineup
card and listed as a sub.
But if batting 9,10 or any amount and someone is ejected and NO SUB is available the game will be forfeited.

The Huntsman World Senior Games (that will resume this year and will be played in Oct.)
have a unique rule that if a player is ejected and there are no substitutes the game
will be forfeited.

Mikelmart & Five
Just to let you know the Gubler fields are located
in Santa Clara adjacent to Saint George and they
do things different then the way field maintenance
is done at Canyons, Little Valley and the Bloomington
complexes which are controlled by Saint George parks
and recreation department who take pride in their
parks and diamonds.

Dave....I tried everything with no results.
I only have 1 grandchild and she's in Oregon
fighting fires.
Sure glad Robbie is having a problem also.
I'll be returning to St. Geo. Monday hopefully
some of the guys will let me know how things went
and maybe I'll get the results then.
Hopefully session 2 goes good and if Vegas is still
shut down SSUSA could think about St. Geo. for the
Worlds. With the loss of the Iron Man and Huntsman
Games in Oct. the city could sure use the revenue.
Stay safe and say hello to Fran.

Thanks for the info Dave but either I'm colored blind
or just plain blind as I have no "pink priority" on
my computer.
When I go the tournament event section I only see the
original schedule with no scores.

Discussion: Westerns in Mesquite?

Don
Glad to see your still playing.
As far as myself the local 80 team (Magic Stuff) ask my to play with them
I'm not sure if I'll be in town at that time.
I had some problems from a June of 2019 until just recently, too many
to explain in writing. It lasted for almost 13 months but I'm back now.
Say hello to Joy, Ron & Juanita for me.
Stay safe and have a great tournament.

Discussion: Westerns in Mesquite?

Hi Don and Mike
Glad to see your both gonna be here in warm Saint George
for the Western National tournament in Aug.
Remember the weather here that time of year is a lot warmer
then in Oct. when you are usually here for Huntsman.
The weather in SG is a few degrees cooler than Mesquite and
also in my opinion the fields you'll be playing on are much
better than in Mesquite.
The Hunter Park in Mesquite has astro turf and with the heat
it would melt the soles on your shoes. All our complexes here
are dirt grass and as you know are very well maintained.
You and all your teammates have safe travels and looking forward
to seeing you.

Discussion: Western National Tournament Cancelled ???

If you have never been or played at the Canyons Complex in Saint George
you'll be in for a treat.
The only problem will be the heat as Aug. in Saint George or Mesquite
the temperature will be triple digits but the humidity is much lower
than any place in Calif.
Stay safe and travel safely.
