Discussion: Batting Box rule change Left handed player called out correctly, entirely within the box

I remember the controversy last season when batters were called out for having their front foot outside of the front of the batter's box. The problem came from venues having shorter batter's boxes. Apparently SSUSA adopted the brand new U-trip rule about back foot and home plate.
I'm curious whether SSUSA rule 1.5 - Batter's Box has also been changed, since it conflicts with the new rule.

It seems to me they could have compromised and made a better rule:
"A batter must Either have both feet within the batter's box Or their back foot behind the front of the mat when they hit the ball."
This adjustment would serve the original purpose of keeping batters from encroaching toward the pitcher, and also allow a batter to use the entire legal sized batter's box without being called out.

Discussion: Player needed for 2024 season- Oregon 55AAA

All-Quip/SOWC (Oregon) is moving to 55AAA for the 2024 season, and we need one more good player from OR, CA, WA, ID, or NV to fill our roster. Our biggest need is an outfielder, but we will move guys around for the right player. We are covered at pitcher, catcher, and first base. This is a competitive, fun team with great sponsors, and a group of guys who have played together for years. The first tourney will be Spring World Championships March 22-24 in St. George. Leave a message for Les Charter at (707)496-0923 if interested.

Discussion: Carson City?? Just Curious

FOFO, what specifically was unsafe?
When I last played there in 2021, the grass was so long that batted balls would not roll very far, making it tough for outfielders and slowing everything down. That was more of a pain in the butt than unsafe. I'm really hoping it's short grass this year.

Is there a host hotel in Carson City? My team is staying at Gold Dust West, and we would like to participate in the drawing for a free registration to the Vegas World Championships.

As an aside, according to SSUSA Staff, it looks like the 40's have gone the longest without playing in CC (2015):

Centennial Park Assignments Last 10 Years

¤ 2021 • 50-Major
¤ 2020 • No tournament [Pandemic]

Discussion: Combined division at Jim Sherman

If there are eight 50AAA teams signed up for Jim Sherman in Salem, that seems like enough for a standalone bracket. Are the 50AAA's also going to play 50M, 55M, and 55 Major Plus in their bracket? Because that's what the Men's 50/55-Gold division looks like. That doesn't seem right.
Hopefully I'm misunderstanding how it's going to be. Anybody know?

Discussion: Sparks vs Carson City (again)

I play for a 55M team and a 50AAA team. Both are going to Rock-n-Reno, so I have to choose between the two. I'd rather play on the all-weather fields at Sparks. Is there any way to tell this soon before the tourney if either of those divisions will definitely be in Sparks this year?
Also, I usually like playing in Carson City, but last year the outfield grass was way too long for this fat outfielders legs. Can SSUSA request the grass be cut shorter for their tournament?

I don't know what my malfunction is, but I can't get our seeding. I've downloaded the 50's file 20 times, including 5 times in the last 10 minutes. My team needs sleep and we don't know when we play.

Discussion: 50AAA needs a few players for Salem July 17-19

My 50AAA team is coming up short on available roster players during the COVID crisis.
We need 3-4 players for the Northwest Championships in Salem July 17-19.
We are an Oregon team, so we can take players from OR, WA, NV, ID, & CA, and currently we are allowed 2 players from non-adjoining states.
Most of our need is in the infield, but we can also use an outfielder. Right about now we just want to play.
