Discussion: Thank you Collier County senior softball

Just wanted to say thanks to the guys at Veterans and Livingston for allowing me to just show up out of no where and play. Its really great to come 1200 miles and be welcomed like that when no one knows you. Unfortunately Im back in New England for a while but I will be back.
Thank again,
Bob Russell aka 53 aka The Evil guy

Discussion: Is it a strike if ball hits front edge of strike mat and also kicks up some dirt?

I hate those front edge ankle biters. Being new to the Senior game after 30 years of the plate not being a strike its already awkward for me to be looking for strikes that far up in the box never mind the front edge of the plate. Definitely an adjustment.

L, its too early to tell durability on the Adidas Melee, Dudley sure did set the bar high last year with super durability and great performance.

Alan, we hit that bat last week. I dont think the sweet spot is smaller it just seems to be shifted more towards the taper than the endcap.
The one we used was a 27 Bal, swings light and I feel people with slightly slower swing speeds will really enjoy this bat.

Discussion: Your opinion on best Senior Bat

Been doing some testing with the new Adidas bat and I have to say the sweetspot is quite large. It really starts getting hotter the farther you get from the end cap which I thought was kinda strange but its like rubber in the middle of the barrel. Too early to tell durability but exit speed and feel are great so far. I will be able to hit it on a field next week in southwest Florida. Hopefully we can get some video but I expect really good things from the new Adidas Melee2 bat.

Joey is correct, That is the Evil Sports Ultimate Evil. Its been the Stadium power tour ball for the last 4 years. They know a good ball when they find it.

The OG one I have has an uncountable amount of hits on it over the years and is straight fire. I picked up another one and its in almost new condish.
How many hits does it usually take for these things to get stupid. I can feel the barrel flex on impact but its definitely not a fire stick yet like my other one.

Gary, I echo your thoughts about throwing it hard. Use the Evil Heavy for soft toss only. Dont muscle up on it or try to chuck it 80, you will do damage.
Now I cant agree with your second point and quite the contrary, The Evil Heavy is NOT a rubber ball and it does not bounce like one either. Since its a leather cover heavy ball you would only be prematurely aging it by throwing it the wall or the ground.

Bruce, thanks for being our tester.
