Discussion: Arizona Scorpions Senior Softball Club – Steve Hilby #24

What sad sad news. A great teammate and a better friend. Our thoughts and prayers for Cindy, family and the Scorpions. Steve was taken too early and will be missed by all of us he touched playing softball.

Discussion: Any Update on The Stote?

Rocks are available through BSN. Just purchased 10 dozen two weeks ago for my Arizona league and they arrived to my Tucson home in less than one week. The Stote balls we used in Reno are junk, why can't the Rock be the tourney choice until the Stote Microcell balls arrive in the States since they hold up the best in hot temperatures?

Discussion: Balls for Rock N Reno

This ball is junk especially in the two days of 95 degree heat this week in Reno. HR's in the 65 major bracket were minimal, in the five games we played only ONE. Agree with Wood_1966 that it favors the base hit only teams. Our league here in Arizona has had no trouble ordering Microcell Stotes or Rocks from BSN Sports. Just got 10 dozen delivered today. Maybe Dave Dowell can save many of us a trip to Sacramento if this same ball is going to be used there. Just sayin.

Discussion: Was this the correct Call?

Batter/Runner hits fair grounder to third baseman. Fielder attempts throw to 1B but is wide right. Thrown ball strikes runner's bat which he is still holding as he runs to first. Batter/runner is inside runners lane and has not reached the bag when struck. Thrown ball deflects off bat and into foul territory. Batter/runner reaches bag safely. Defensive team objects saying batter/runner should be called out for carrying the bat which was struck by the thrown ball. Umpire disagrees and rules runner is safe. I find nothing in the Rulebook which would prevent runner from being out in this situation. Thoughts?

Discussion: WINTER WORLD'S • 65/70-Platinum Update

Instead of all the whining, why not suck it up and play the best to be better individually and as a team? I play for Scrap Iron High Octane. We drew Timberworks in the seeding and faced Omen in the 3rd place game. Both teams are class acts with great guys who just want to compete at their best facing teams who have no problem lacing it up against them and doing the same. Scorpions kicked our butts in the first game but we adjusted and lost by one run with the sacks loaded in the seventh in the final. They played outstanding defense and were the BEST TEAM this week. Sorry to see all the grief Omen and Timberworks guys have to read in this blog.

Tired of bouncing between positions and looking for team who wants a permanent first baseman. Live in Tucson. Provide phone or email and I can give you teams I played for and specifics.

Discussion: Dudley HotW 14” replacement bat

My first Hot W 26 ounce cracked in Mesquite with well under 75 swings. 70 plus degree weather. Serial number was 2212180830. Direct Sports replaced it with an Adidas Melee at my request. I also have a 25 ounce Hot W with serial number 1512180013 which I used in Vegas last month and has over 250 swings on it right now. Plan on using it with my 2 other game bats in Reno next week.

Discussion: DUDLEY 2019 LIGHTNING HOTW

Hot W 26 ounce cracked this weekend in Mesquite with well under 75 swings. 70 plus degree weather. Serial number is 2212180830. Also have a 25 ounce still in wrapper serial number 1512180013. Does anyone have one from the 151 batch which has also cracked? Thanks. Direct Sports has indicated when I purchased that they would honor a replacement.

Discussion: AZ Player considering Tournament Play in 2018

I'm looking to join a 60 plus Major team to play some tournaments this year. 64 years old. I've been playing in Saddlebrooke (Tucson) Senior Softball competitive league last four years (year round) . Play first or third base, good speed and a .700 plus average with power. I have references if you want or you can view stats at saddlebrookeseniorsoftball.com.
