Has anyone played on the new fields in New Mexico, Los Altos on 10100 Lomas Blvd? How are these fields? Looking at playing the tourney on June 7th to 9th and would like to know how they are.

100% agree with this post, this has been an issue with the Baden balls. Other complaints are they get extremely slippery when dirty. I have used antibacterial wipes to clean the balls and this has helped, but the not seeing the ball off the bat at dusk or night is a real safety issue and feel that this needs to be addressed for player safety.

Discussion: Bracket Updates

When will SSUSA have the ability and/or staff to update the bracketing as the tourney evolves? We as coaches/players would love to be able to sign in or go to the bulletin board and look to see what the brackets look like. Most sanction are able to do this and it is extremely helpful for teams to know when they are playing and who without having to stand at a field and wait for the board to be updated or wait for text or calls. For the teams that start bracket on the day after seeding it would be nice to see what teams you are preparing for.

I have see previous post for this a while back and still nothing has been updated or changed. SSUSA cost per tourney is one of the highest for any sanction and would be nice to maybe use some of the funds to get close to real time bracket update. Appreciate the updates after tourney, when they are updated, but that doesn't help during.

Jerry, tourney Director at the Top Gun Winter Classic in Bullhead city, did anyone turn in a blue buffer jacket with gloves and a hat in the pockets? This was left at the fields by one of out players spouse. I can be reached at 928-279-7041 (Roy)

Discussion: New rule on shaved bats

I see the new rule and shows a 10 year suspension for the player now and not for the coach, but the team is suspended. How long is the team suspension?

In either case, managers no longer face suspension. Instead, the committee approved declaring the team ineligible for the Tournament of Champions and the World Championships. The team will forfeit all TOC berths it has earned.

As a manager, I agree, what steps/actions can we take to verify an illegal bat for a player on our roster? I see that not only the manager (4 month suspension) bu the team as well, how long was the team suspension?

I truly am glad that SSUSA is looking into this and hope they find a way to check bats at the major tournaments and mark them to be used. I play lots of USSSA and they test bats at the major tourneys and keep them secured during the tournament.

Discussion: What Balls are we using in Phoenix ?

Can we still swap out the older Baden balls with the old round Senior softball logo for the new ones that were used at worlds? We were told that if they are still in the wrapper we could bring to a tourney and swap them and just making sure this is still OK.

Discussion: Can you please update the brackets for tournament...

Agreed, would be nice to see these. Strange though that they are able to update session 2 with the 65 AAA and AA and Session 1 most of the 55, but no 60's. Would be great to actually have the field directors/umpires update the brackets on line as games end so everyone could view

Asylum, I have the same question. I have about 10 of the Baden that just say Seniors in the circle and the new ones provided at worlds have the SSUSA logo so can we swap these with SSUSA for future tourney use or are we just out of luck? $40 for 6 balls is not cheap and these have been purchased throughout the year so we should be able to swap

During the Vegas worlds they have the West vs East USA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, how does one earn a birth in this game? I see it each year and have never asked how they determine the 2 teams that play one another.

Curious as to why the 65 and over and not playing the 3 days prior like in most TOC tourneys and they are overlapping with the 60 and under? Teams are getting games at 8 & 8:30 at night, and if ALL goes well will still start late so these teams could potentially be playing at 9PM or later. I don't know or remember any other TOC where these overlapped like this.
