July 8, 2022 dwniel | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Northeast Championships Parking Cost We were informed yesterday that the Hopkins Road Complex for the Northeast Championship will be charging a fee for parking per car at the complex so I wanted players or carloads to be prepared to pay for parking as you enter the complex |
July 6, 2022 dwniel | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Office Open?? June 11, 2020 dwniel | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: NORTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIPS SYRACUSE, NY I have been in contact with my players from MA, they are being told that when they come to New York for the NE Championship they have to go into a 14 day quarantine once they return back home due to the COVID-19. I have not heard of any guidance along these lines. I understood the possibility of going into NYC that you may possibly need to do this but upstate NY is in a different category than what NYC is listed as. WE are going to be in Phase 4 once the tournament starts and there has not been any guidance stating that you need to go into quarantine if people from other states come to upstate New York. Has any other teams from other states heard about this. I just hope this doesn't influence teams not to come to Syracuse to play in their first Senior Softball Tournament for the 2020 year. |
May 11, 2020 dwniel | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Updates Crabtown Classic May 29th Glenn Burnie MD I am on the brink of pulling my team out of the Crabtown Classic due to the news that we are receiving about how bad it is down in the Annapolis/Glen Burnie/Baltimore area with this virus. One of our other New York teams have already pulled out. The problem we have is we have a combination of players from the upstate New York area and the Boston MA area and we are still under the restrictions of stay at home until maybe the end of this week and our cases are not as bad as what they are down in Baltimore area.. Tournaments that were scheduled after the Crabtown have already been cancelled. Just my two cents if it is worth it, we all love playing senior softball but if there are restrictions in hotels and restaurants re-opening will definitely determine whether teams will come and things do not look good for the Baltimore area. Is SSUSA staff seeing something different then the rest of us are seeing? |
April 14, 2020 dwniel | Topic: Website comments Discussion: Master Team Rosters Thank you Sisavic, I did change my browser to Chrome and it did work.... |
April 13, 2020 dwniel | Topic: Website comments Discussion: Master Team Rosters If all remains the same with the SSUSA scheduled tournaments, I am trying to build our teams master roster for 2020 and the website is not allowing to add players to the master roster. Just checking to see if the website has that option shut off during this pandemic, and if so when will it be turned back on. Is anyone else having this issue. |
Nov. 18, 2019 dwniel | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: results Until they spend the money to purchase a program that will allow each director from each tournament and complex to update games, this will never change. No reason why this organization can't purchase the same program that ISSA uses for their tournaments, all games in that organizational tournaments are updated by complex directors within 1/2 hour of when the games are finished. With the increasing cost of SSUSA tournaments compared to other organizations costs of tournament, the cost is minimal to purchase a program like this and not have to rely on one director sitting in California to always have to input the results. We have been beating a dead horse for several years on this topic and nothing ever seems to be resolved as a solution. Many Senior softball players like to see the results of all of the tournaments that are played but SSUSA has always been lacking in this and will not change. |
July 9, 2018 dwniel | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: 2018 Northeast Championships Great job by the Directors of this tournament with juggling between the two complex's (Santaro Park and Hopkins Road) that were used because of the high numbers of teams in Session 1. The directors also were on top of the tournament results as the results of every division was updated on a daily basis. Hopefully SSUSA can keep this as a standard for future tournaments. It was great to see how the other teams and divisions did that were playing in the tournament. Also cudos go out to the ground crews for each complex as torrential rains on Thursday evening did not wash out any of the games starting at 9:00 on Friday morning at either complex. Overall a great tournament..... |
Feb. 10, 2018 dwniel | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: TOC UPDATES for Loyce Harps Complex Thanks Tim for the updates from your complex. Why is it some of the other complexes/directors can’t do the same thing. SSUSA is a good organization but they are lacking in updating tournament results. I hate to beat a dead horse horse but real time updates for all your tournaments would be a plus to your organization. Try to use ISSA as your example for real time updates of your brackets. Technology is a wonderful thing when it is used properly. Come on SSUSA staff, there has to be a smart technology person among your group that could be doing this. |
June 6, 2016 dwniel | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Crabtown Classic Results High Street Bucs win again 55 Major, add that to there total wins including TOC, add a few Major + players and still remain a Major team. Great rating System you have SSUSA....This just adds to why the whole SSUSA rating process is not a good system. Directors should have input for each Tournament instead of one person sitting in California. That's why you see more teams in the Northeast not going to SSUSA tournaments.... |
