May 29, 2024 Mannjo	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Was ruling correct In my league game today the following play happened. Runner was running home from third. Throw came in to the plate and went wide. The catcher in pursuing the ball fell down in front of the runner. The runner to avoid the catcher ran to home plate,not the outside plate. The umpire ruled him out. The argument was it was obstruction and the runner should have been awarded home. Right call?

If you torn your rotator cuff,you won’t be able to lift your arm to comb your hair without excruciating pain. Plus if you torn it and don’t take care of it,you will end up with what is called frozen shoulder.

I work out on strengthening the quads and core two to three times a week. The orthopedic dr told me you should do this,as by strengthening the quads you take pressure off the knees.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I had only 35 percent meniscus left after three scopes for tears. But It’s worth it for someone to discuss this option with their dr. Beats a knee replacement. I live in Massachusetts,but the good thing about that is we have some of the best medical hospitals in the world.

I had the second option done in 2015. The orthopedic dr told me to try this before a replacement. If it didn’t work ,it is only a scope and then you can have the knee replacement. Four years later still holding. But I do get the euflexxor shots every May to help lube the knee. My only draw back is because of my activity level the shots only last about four months.

Aug. 29, 2018 Mannjo	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Life is Precious A little tip I got from a trainer to hydrate in high humidity. Drink 16 oz. of water two hours before you play. Another 16 oz. before the game and 8 oz everty twenty minutes while playing. He said you can make your own sport drink. Just add a pinch of sea salt and sugar to a bottle of water.

One piece ,they slide right on to your shin. No straps or inserts. Free movement. For the price comfort and protection cannot be beat.
Dec. 21, 2017 Mannjo	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Pain management Mikelmart, I have arthritis also. The big thing is a good orthopedic surgeon,to guide you. A few tips I use recommend by my doctor. Is take four 200 ibuprofen if you have inflammation.. You can also purchase asper cream with lidocaine and apply to your knees and effected joints. Plus go to the orthopedic department of your local hospital and get fitted for orthopedic inserts. They run about $30 dollars and are well worth it and better than what you can buy at the store. You might also want to look into uflexxa shots for your knees,if you haven’t already. Hope this helps.
Nov. 24, 2017 Mannjo	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Bone On Bone Cz3114, I had it done two years ago this month. It is holding up fine. I would recommend anyone to discuss this option with their doctor before a knee replacement. After the procedure I didn’t see much difference. It took about four weeks ,as I did PT and then I could really see the difference. I could run without an issue..No swelling. I do not wear a brace,but I do wear a sleeve. My doctor told me the same thing. This is what they do before a knee replacement.
