| Oct. 9, 2019 marcster13 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Is it a double play I am picturing this happening in real time. The runner would have surely took off once the batter hit the ball. If the runner did indeed take off on contact would he not have had to go back to first to tag up after the ball made first contact (off the foot)? I picture the runner is already off the bag on contact, then continued to run to 2B. Which should be runner out for not tagging up. I don't think the runner would have had time or the instincts (was yelled at to go to 2b) to go back to tag up after a line drive hit the pitchers foot. Just my thoughts. |

Dudley: All Dudley slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. Easton: All Easton slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. Elite Sports: All Elite Sports slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. Louisville Slugger: All Louisville Slugger slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. | Nov. 28, 2018 marcster13 | Topic: Bats Discussion: New Senior bat technology and performance insights I agree regarding the barrels getting too soft. I don't have a casual/slow swing so senior bats don't tend to last me very long (except the original Dudley). I have cracked a bunch. But I have given away more bats due to a soft barrel. The ball just makes a thud sound and goes nowhere. I give them to guys who don't swing that hard and the bat works quite well for them. I believe this to be that they usually aren't able to break in a bat fully so the barrel never collapses as much as it could. With these hand me down bats they still don't swing hard enough to notice the barrel is soft but get better trampoline effect than they normally would. Goes back to that saying "One mans trash is another mans treasure." I will not buy a used bat from someone who swings hard for this reason. But this is why i like buying used bats from guys who don't swing hard. |
| Nov. 20, 2018 marcster13 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: You make the call First off any defensive player who leaves the ball in fair territory in his area of play for another man/woman to go retrieve the ball is a POS. It disgusts me when I see grown men do that. That being said......... If i was on a team who failed to retrieve the ball i would not call for an appeal to the umpire just out of sheer embarrassment for my team. But if the Outfielder simply went to the ball and picked it up like a decent human then sure why not appeal both runners and save a run. |

Much better performance than with a senior bat. The thing about injuries though is more people are getting hit with this ball. It bounces much more! The injuries won't be as severe though as with a harder compression ball. Pick your poison. |

The batters box size or the plate being a strike? I ask because if the batters box size came first then the plate came later the batter effectively lost some stride room. |

I personally don't have a problem keeping my feet in the box because i am too uncoordinated to run around in the box while tying to swing at a moving object. But....... Playing at places that have a pre-painted batters box like at BLD the box always seems smaller than at other venues. Like a foot shorter! So if our batters box really is supposed to be 4x7 (Noted above in this thread) but BLD and others makes the box for the size of baseball which is 4x6 then I'd say SSUSA should not even bother enforcing the rule at these venues. I've never measured the batters box at these places that have it pre-painted. Has anyone else? |

If this is done in an infielder mask you can get struck on the side of the head. Just my thoughts. |

I was mainly curious because I wanted to know if it would be worth asking for a vote at the committee meeting to give 40's a foul. Right now 40's plays 1 n 1 no foul to give. Knowing that the other age groups are getting in 7 innings in most games I think its fair to say that 40's could go to 1 n 1 with a courtesy foul. |

There was a lot of opinions on this when voted in. Are you noticing an increase in complete games played compared to previous years? Anyone that was against it.... Have you changed your mind or do you still not like it. Why? For the 40's age bracket. Would you like to get rid of 1 n 1 no foul in favor of 1 n 1 with a foul? Or would you like to keep it with no foul? Why? Any other input would be great too. Just curious. |
