garyheifner....yes you are correct that Rantoul complex is really good...all turfs....4 300' softball fields, and 4 baseball fields that the workers put up temporary fences at 300' and baseball pitching mounds are removable,,,,I really like that complex as well as Joilet Inwood complex had turned those 6 limstone softball fields into all turf softball fields...with upgraded concession place....

Discussion: Hows the new ball performing at worlds Dave?

I have played in 55AAA division, and have hit those baden fire senior balls...in my opinion, the balls are abit above average at best (my score out of 5 would be 3.5), as they will fly out when hitting the right spot hard. I have hit it out of field in morning, afternoon, and evening, but yeah in a way the temperature do play a small factor - the balls will go out better during the "cool" parts of the day (morning/evening) than the "warm/hot" part of the day (afternoon). The balls do get dirty fast, especially with the red sand from infields and I do suggest to bring a damp towel (or 2) to clean them off during the games, especially during the dusk.

Discussion: Idea for next years worlds in Vegas (or any other large tourney)

I would agreed with coop3636 in a way...if each pod has 16 teams (4 pods of 16 teams, for example)...after pool games, bottom half of blue pod goes to play against top half of red, vice versa..same goes for other pods...it did happened to my team that we had played the two same teams in pool games AND bracket games..

Discussion: Make the Call

Pitch Count/ Men and Women 40, 50, 55 and 60 Age Divisions•Starting count is 1-1. (Note: In Men's & Women's 40 Masters, the pitch count is 1-1 with NO extra foul ball. In Men's & Women's 50, 55 and 60s, the pitch count is 1-1 WITH an extra foul ball). •Batter walks after 3 balls. Batter is out after 2 strikes. •On foul tips that are caught in the air, the ball must go higher than the batter's head for an out to be recorded.
So it is the umpire's discretion of deciding if the ball goes above the batter's head or not...based on the rule I copied...the batter is not an out yet...

Wishing you good luck and speedy recovery...it depends on how well you recover afterwards..it varies among men whom undergone that.
I will be having cyberknife treatment this month for my prostate cancer as well...I chose it over surgery or hormone therapy. Better outcome, less side effects, etc...

Discussion: Bordering State Rule

Bordering state rule applies to major level and below...while major plus has rule of residency in either side of mississippi river based on where the team is set up in. (If a team is set up in east coast, it can have any players from anywhere on east side of mississippi river)

Discussion: CHOPPED / TOMAHAWKED BALL

I have done tomahawked the ball few times....and I have seen some guys that did chopped swing to get base hit quickly...by rule, the bat must complete the swing around, otherwise the batter will be called out if the swing doesn't complete around (known as half swing or swing bunt..)I did saw a guy that choked up at least 5 or 6 inches and swung the bat for a bloop hit over the infield..

Discussion: TOC qualifier

brhodes27 -

I think what make senses to me is that in previous tourneys that I played in...I have seen a 40 major team played in 50 major pool/tourney. For them to be able to qualify for TOC berth, they have to win outright in 50 major bracket (while the runner-up whom is a 50 major team won the 50 major title and received berth to TOC). Just like the recent tourney I played in ISA senior world series, and Bad Boyz team whom is 50 Major Plus team, played in 50 Major pool/bracket, and they didn't win the major plus title 'cuz they were eliminated in semifinal game. (Of course they had to give either 5 run or 11 defensive men on field to other teams in pool/bracket games).

Discussion: Isa world series

Great tourney to play in...as it was my first time playing there, even though I have played at other tourneys at other locations in the past with different teams. Good competition at the isa world series. This is my 4th year playing Major level..next year would be time that I could be playing 2 teams (50's and 55's)..who knows...LOL.. By the way, big hello to my friend, RJB.
