Discussion: Player Reclassification

MudDawg - I agree that there are not many travel teams at all in the Northeast period. Lots of quality leagues with some good teams in those states. Trouble is most teams don't want any part of travel ball - even in their own state.Money isn't the issue either. Not sure what is. But the same thing happened to one of our teams that happened to your team a couple of years back. They were a regular league team that won a SSUSA tourney with 3 teams in it. They won the "if" game over two other local teams. They were later notified they could not play AAA anymore and were being bumped. In all their games they never put up over 15 runs. That was the first and last last tourny they ever played in and just play league now.

Discussion: Pool games....???

- Just throwing in my 2 cents. Don't change a thing! - I think the SSUSA runs this perfect. I love the 2 seeding games because although they do determine seeding, they also are great tune up games for guys that don't play as regularly as they would want too. The only thing that maybe SSUSA can look into is having the higher seeded team the automatic home team. We recently were the top seed after seeding games and ended up the visiting team every game after that because we have a stubborn manager who always calls "tails" :)

Tournament was well organized and start times went off without a hitch. Fields were excellent and the competition was great! Hats off to the tourny director for having enough staff to display scores each inning, keep the official book, and providing umps that overall did a great job during the many close games. - Would love to know where they got the hot dogs though, they were almost as big around as my Miken!

Discussion: Broken bat - coincidence or legit reason?

- I am no physics major so I am not sure if this is coincidence or fact. I have owned hundreds of bats over the 30+ years of softball and have never broken a knob off the bat. I use a standard grip with a dropped pinky finger off the bat. This year I tried tinkering around with a grip that resembled more of the knob in the palm of my hand and dropped the ring and pinky finger off. On my first round of BP - Presto! bat cracks right at the knob in my palm. Is this just a coincidence or was the bat under more stress using this grip? - Not trying to be funny but was wondering if a particular grip could lead bats to break. Bat was a year old but hardly used and lost the receipt so I guess I am out of luck.

Discussion: Bat Gimmick

Hi Nancy!I swung that Baden Axe bat and it almost ended my season before it began. First swing I tried to roll my wrists and almost broke my right wrist doing so.. I am lefthanded and tried to do something that the bat clearly was not designed to do. I can see if maybe your trying to undercut the ball but trying to top it....well forget it!.... your right...just a gimmick to get us to buy buy buy. I was thinking of a very heavy spring that you can cock back and set until you are ready to hit... just as you swing you "pull a trigger" that releases the barrel of the bat at 110 miles an hour... think it will sell????....lol

Discussion: Favorite Ugly Strike You Love to Hit

Hey everyone,

Up here in New England getting ready to FINALLY go outside and hit instead of the cages. I was wondering what everyone's favorite ugly pitch they love to hit that may or may not be a strike. Personally, as a lefty, I love the high inside pitches the would land 8-10" inside if I could ever stay off them...but I cant!

Discussion: Miken White vs. Big Cat

I was thinking of picking up the Big Cat 27oz. due to the fact my white 2 piece Miken just cracked in the cages. I was wondering if there is a big difference in end load between the Cat and the White 2 piece. Also, is the end load in the Big Cat comparable to or greater than the load in the Dudley lightning? Looking for some advice because I dont want to order a bat and end up returning it. Thanks in advance!

Discussion: Has anyone being dizzy on the field,

Michael, I agree with hombre. Get an A1C test at your Doc's office. I used to get dizzy and also lightheaded, especially later in games. Turned out I had type 2 diabetes and the sugar in the drinks I was using to hydrate during games was spiking my blood sugar like crazy. Lost weight, laying off anything high in sugar or white flour and my numbers are almost perfect. Have not gotten dizzy in two years. Good luck! - hope everything turns out OK.

Discussion: Miken 2 piece knob came off.

I had a crazy thing happen with the Miken 2 piece this year. Was taking a few cuts before a game and the bat broke in half almost 18" from the handle. The onle thing that kept the top from flying as far as the ball was a few strands of bat. Seen many bats crack ,break, etc, but never halfway up the the bat!.

Discussion: Monsta Senior Bat?

- I was wondering if the Monsta Senior bat is legal for all senior associations. Swung a non-senior monsta recently and loved the balanced feel it had to it. Was wondering if the senior bat swings the same way?

-thanks

Discussion: Excellent Customer Service!! - Team 1 Sports

Just wanted to throw a shout out to Alan Tanner from Team 1 Sports. I am new to the Senior Circuit but not new to softball as I have been playing the game for 25 years. Called Alan to order my first Senior Bat(very excited..lol) I had a lot of questions regarding multiple bats, endloads, etc. Alan took his time with me to answer all of my questions and was extremely knowledgeable in providing answers to all of my many questions. I told him a needed the bat for this weekend and it was delivered today as he promised. Not too often have a had such an easy ordering experience with anything. You have earned my business for all of my future equipment!

Thanks again,

- Bob Sobs
