I've known Carlos for years, done business with him, and he is a man of integrity. If you don't protect your client base, you won't be in this business very long. I will admit that his hitting was surprising impressive. I may buy this bat just to support Elite Sports.

Carlos, hope to see you in Mesquite.

Five solid 60 Major teams in our division. Great venue even with the lightning delay on Sunday. As always, the administration was great. Fields were great. Officiating was good. Final standings:

Top Gun Elite, 1st
Pope Transport, 2nd
Arizona Old School, 3rd

See you all in Vegas

Congratulations to Omega IT Services out of Maryland on winning the 60 Major Triple Grad Slam. Great group of athletes and even better people. They even imported a large cheering section. Thanks ladies!

This 30 team division was as strong as I've ever encountered in SSUSA. No easy games and the majority were very close to the end. Lots of walk off drama.

We were finally able to douse the Houston Fire team after they beat us for the championships of both the Winter Worlds and the Western Nationals. Also great guys.

At least our team can say we were the only team to beat the #1 seed Omega IT last weekend, but they bounced right back to win the "if" game by one, 29 to 28.

We were at Desert Breeze, great weather, great field prep, and great officiating. Well done SSUSA staff.

Discussion: Sun Field s at Big League Dreams

Donnie, Go to your nearest welding supply store and buy welder's glasses. They look like wraparound sunglasses.
They come in different grades, I believe #3, #4 and #5. Take them outside and try looking into the sun with each grade to see which level of darkness works best for you. I have four pairs that I keep in my bat bag to share with my teammates.

If you use the darkest grade you may have to leave them on until the sun is no longer an issue. They are so dark that your eyes can't adjust fast enough if you try to take them off intermittently. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response. It was "no sweat".

Discussion: Rosen Bag On the Field

Just wondering? The last two tournaments we played in very hot and humid weather. Our middle infielders had difficulty gripping the ball and it cost us several double plays. Is it legal to have a rosen bag, say just on the outfield grass behind second base? Does SSUSA have a rule regarding this? Or does anyone have a better solution to the sweaty palms in humid weather problem. Thanks

Gentlemen, the road opened on Saturday last week. If only we moved as fast as you want goggle maps to.

Mike, your right about the traffic. I live in Rancho Mission Viejo and traffic has really picked up now that Antonio Parkway goes through to San Clemente. Give yourself extra time to get to the fields. So what if you get there early and get to enjoy the setting, the temperature, and even hangin' with your softball brothers.

Thanks to Top Gun for hosting.

Softball4b...Mike, you personally probably hit more home runs in Friday's seeding games than we hit in seven games all weekend in Vegas. Top Gun 60's hit a grand total of three home runs for the tournament. The undefeated winning team, a very solid Minnesota Masters White, hit six home runs against us in our first seeding game alone. Yes, Top Gun 60's had a very good 2013, but we do not have the power throughout our line up to stay with 60 Major Plus teams. However, if you would care to join Top Gun 60 I'll put in a good word for you. LOL

For those of you who graciously asked about Paul Lederman, our stud who was admitted to Desert Breeze Regional Medical Center on Friday night, he was released late Sunday, and is home resting after what now appears to have been dehydration, complicated by his hamstring injury in the first seeding game, along with heart surgery earlier this season. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Again, congratulations to Minnesota Masters White. Chain Link/Smith Electric, it's always a great game when we meet, and Top Gun 60 hopes to see you soon in Phoenix at the Winter World's.
