| June 20, 2019 StevenL.Imlay | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Hitting Clinic in Medford, OR for Tom Amundson Benefit Softball Hitting Clinics Appreciate getting the word out about this clinic all proceeds go directly to Tom and his family! July 23, 2019 Medford, OR : The clinic in Medford, OR is a very special clinic for a very close friend of mine, Tommy Amundson. We have played ball together and been close friends for over 15 years. Tommy was a timber faller for 45 years, and he was helping someone cut some firewood. A branch fell and knocked him out, causing him to fall to the ground from a 6 platform. Among other injuries, he broke his neck and back and is now a complete T4 paraplegic. Proceeds from the Medford clinics (with enough interest, we will do more clinics) will be donated to Tommy to help cover the extensive medical bills and equipment that are not paid for by his insurance. If you'd like to follow updates on his progress, go to Facebook and search for a group called "Journey through Craig". His daughter Tracey gives great updates there. The family is also hosting a surprise homecoming party for Tommy in Red Bluff on September 13, 2019. If youd like more information, search Facebook for Tom Amundsons Homecoming. If you set the correct body angle you will swing with slight angle up or down depending upon locations of the ball. Keeping the shoulders fairly square is important in that process. However if your looking at strictly launch angle Blast Vision recommends 10-20%. MLB keeps track of Launch angle and exit speed on every hitter on every pitch so you know it's important. | Aug. 15, 2018 StevenL.Imlay | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Major++++ Many teams believe the difference in Major and Major Plus is Power but as we age we see less home runs. The quality of the overall hitting is still prevalent in all levels. Defense, speed, depth and arm strength does vary by each team. The problem as I see it is the challenge to see how other very good Major Plus teams can justify taking the 5 runs. Larry, I never thought I would see where this type of an adjustment would be made my making a very unusual additional division in an attempt to level out the playing field. We still have the dwindling numbers of Major Plus teams in 65 and above. We will play within the rules and give it our best effort even if it requires giving 5 runs to a strong 65 Major Plus team. Like Doak, don't ask us to ever take the runs, won't happen! I understand we have a problem just not convinced this is the solution. SLi Timberworks Major + + team! |

However, penalizing another Major Plus team doesn't make a lot of sense. Lower level or new unproven Major plus teams probably should take the runs as you suggested. Higher level, well not something I would want a team of mine to do. SLi |
