April 6, 2020 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Running lane violation I would think to get an better explanation of the rule you will need to put a scenario. As in all judgement calls the actual play needs to be listed for an accurate explanation, there are different scenarios that would have different answers. |
March 16, 2020 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: missed Infield fly call alan - State infield fly rule should have been called. Put original base runners back on 1st and 2nd. Runners most likely would not have ran if called correctly and if they did run after ball being dropped defense would have most likely tagged runner instead of stepping on base for force. Always go with what would have most likely happened if rule was called correctly so as not to punish either team for missed call. |
Feb. 18, 2020 lb16 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Rumor on Bats DCPete - The USSSA bat change deadline has been extended to Jan. 1 2023. |
Dec. 12, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Suncoast/Adidas bats Dusty-3 I have a 27 oz. Suncoast balanced version. My review for now is limited as I am not taking full cuts as of yet I had rotator cuff repair on shoulder in August. I have took 15-20 light swings with mine with the wrapper still on and bat feels great. I will post more on it when I am able to take full swings. I believe performance is going to be top notch just concerned about how long it will last right now. |
Oct. 21, 2019 lb16 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Asa bats Not sure what was brought up in vegas meeting, but the ASA bats are not hotter than SSUSA bats. The reason SSUSA won't allow them is because the aren't stamped with a BPF rating. That's the only reason you can't swing them in SSUSA events. These bats are lower than 1.20 BPF but aren't stamped as such. |
Sept. 11, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Qualified bats Pretty simple answer no fees are being paid to SSUSA! |
Sept. 3, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Question bruiser - kinda confused by your description of play. you said bases loaded no one out so when umpire called infield fly you have 1 out. Runner going home is safe so you asked if runner going home was the 3rd out which isn't an out, where did the 2nd out come from? |
Aug. 5, 2019 lb16 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Eastern Championship BH44 - Ump sorta gave correct answer. There is always a batters box regardless if it's still visible or not. It becomes judgement of the umpire if batter is out of box or not if lines are no longer visible. |
July 25, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Bats Discussion: NEW Dudley Lift one piece 2020 Alan - Question is are the production bats that the general public purchase not going to crack early? The demo HotW's that were out weren't cracking like the retail product did. Did Dudley ever say what the issue was I haven't heard anything. I personally wouldn't invest in any HotW product right now until they have been sold over a period of time with good results on performance and durability. |
July 23, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Correct call Wayne - Slow down take a deep breath read the situation. Runner on 2nd legally tagged up realized runner on 3rd didn't and went back to 2nd he has to be tagged by fielder for a legal out. What part of scenario don't you get as usual! |
July 22, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Correct call Miss worded a little out could have still been made if runner at 2nd was tagged.Run would have still counted if 3rd base runner scored before tag was made. |
July 22, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Correct call Never a force play on a fly ball tag up. In your scenario runner would have had to be tagged for an official out to be made. This is a timing play not a force out play. Only way out should have been recorded is if fielder tagged runner at 2nd before runner on third scored. How did your protest turn out? |
July 17, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Ruling on Run Down STL0 - To answer your question if it wasn't already. I missed the BJ vs Dave exchange. You are correct no penalty for retreating back to 1st to delay or avoid tag. Umpire got this one wrong. |
July 3, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Bats Discussion: MIKEN ULTRA 2 WITH ASA2000 / ISF HAS A "W" MELTED IN THE END CAP Just my opinion but the bat is definitely stronger and will last way longer than the current Ultra II. I had and OG Ultra II when they 1st came out around 2003. Bat lasted a couple years hitting .47 core softballs had over 2000 swings on it. 1st Ultra II I got when I turned 50 playing senior ball got around 200 swings out of it. Now most Miken reps will tell you it is the same composite I call BS. Anyway that is my opinion. |
July 1, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Do we win or do we lose grayhitter59 - This is a timing play if runner scored before appeal is made or ball is thrown to 2nd for live ball appeal run counts. Not a force out!!! |
July 1, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Dudley HotW crack Dusty-3 Actually all the bats being sent out for replacement are still breaking. This includes the ser. #s you listed as well. Dudley hasn't fixed the problem they are just sending out the inventory they have. Crickets from Dudley on what the problem is and what they are doing to correct the problem. |
June 28, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Do we win or do we lose Question is what did the ump call. I am assuming he called it correctly and home team won game. |
June 20, 2019 lb16 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rules Question B.J. is correct on both situations. The 2nd situation is where a lot of players get confused saying runner has to peel off or get out of the way of the throw. That is not the case if runner is in base path moving toward base and ball is thrown into him there is no interference. To add this is as long as runner is not doing anything out of the ordinary jumping, throwing hands etc. in front of ball. |
June 19, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Dudley HotW crack Are people still buying these bats? |
June 18, 2019 lb16 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: foul ball on no fouls left Dave - So would a base runner who left the bag on 1st touch on a ball caught in foul grounds be out on appeal for leaving bag early. The answer is no!! |
