Discussion: How many Seniors have done this?

We also were talking this past year and there are a number of players on this years team that finished second as a major at St George, so we get a bump to Major + in 2021. I believe most are looking forward to playing at the + level this year. Not many can say they started at AA and have a chance to play major +. What is interesting from my perspective is that teams I have been on have never won Ssusa Worlds. Second in aaa and get bump, fourth once in major and second this year and get a bump:). Did win a spa aaa once and had a second the next year as a major. Playing major for the past eight years with some great guys who just line up and play everyone in front of us. So really looking forward to the new year and let’s see what happens:)

Discussion: Still waiting for a rational answer

I am one of these players caught up in the playing with a younger team and bringing that major level with you. Actually had the privilege to play three age brackets last year (70,65,60) , how many get to do that in one year. Still on a 60 team that is very competitive and really like the speed of that game and skill level. Also have a 65 team that is capable of competing too. So I don’t mind the competition, however I notice at 70 it is more difficult finding that 70 level major team here in the Midwest. Been one game away from being kicked to the major plus level in two out of the last four years, but will deal with it when it happens. I say, let’s just go play and look forward to seeing everyone in Vegas!

Discussion: Looking for a 60+ tournament team central AR

Gar, I play on a traveling team with players from Ok.,AR.,Misou, & Tx. Right now we have a roster of about 15 but with injuries we were not able to make the Texas tourney last weekend, so I cannot say for sure if we could use another player, or for that matter be able to add another player to the roster, but if you want to get back to me email at jcclaw1@yahoo.com. Right
now we are a AAA or major, just depends on which association is rating. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you, Jerry Clawson

Discussion: Playing down in age bracket

Last year I played down in both the SPA & SSUSA. I can play major 60 and play the same or 55 AAA. As long as you play one level down. Major cannot go to a 55 AA.
I actually played 60 & 55 on the same weekend two times last year, and was able to go to SPA nationals with each one. Hope this helps.

Discussion: Bob Chapp -Qualifying tournament for the Senior Softball World Championships

I don't know Bob Chapp personally, but I have met & known a thousand like him over the past 40 plus years. I cannot help but be touched by this short article, and I wish the family all my condolesences, not only from myself but from this exclusive group of players from all across the country. We all love this kid's game and when I take the field I will always remember those who have gone before me. Let's play two!

Discussion: Turning 60 in 08 in Arkansas

I have been playing for teams out of NW AR for the past six years and will also be turning 60 this year, but I think I am going to play down to 55. Who have you been playing with the last few years? Get back and perhaps I will be ablel to point you to someone needing a couple of players. email jcclaw1@yahoo.com

Discussion: looking for a team in ok.

I play for a 55 AAA team out of Ok., AR, Misou., & Tx. and we could possibly be looking for a player or two next year. I do not know of any teams around ADA but there are several out of OKC & Tulsa has several teams too. If you want to email me at jcclaw1@yahoo.com maybe we can exchange more info. Let me know, J.C.

Discussion: want to play softball

Aaron, I play on a AA team out of Northwest Arkansas and we are short and in desperate need of a player for Plano Aug. 10 - 12th. I know you can play down to AA if you are 60 or over. 55 AA is very competive and I know you would be a welcome addition if you would like to join us for Plano. We have finished as high as third in the past and last year we finished fourth, but we have been struggling to keep players healthy this year. We have several players who are eligible for 60, so please get back to me if you want to give it a try. Our team is the Bella Vista Travelers and if things go right we could do some damage at nationals. If you want to call me you can reach me at 479-621-6894 at home and cell during the week 479-871-5604. A team from Louisiana won last year and added several 60 plus AAA players for nationals. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks, J.C.

Discussion: Bat break in

I appreciate the timely responses to my question. In the back of my mind I didn't think it could be good to utilize a cage. I will start hitting off a tee in addition to getting as much live practice as possible. Once March get here I am good to go. I wish everyone the best of luck this year! Thanks again.

Discussion: Bat break in

I know this may be a question I should know the answer to, but manufacturers state guarantees are not applicable if you hit your bat in a batting cage. How is breaking in your bat in a cage detrimental to the bat? Should I or should I not break in my new bat in a cage? In order to get in the swings I need, I often utilize batting cages. I would appreciate any insight you can give on this question. Help!
