THE BATTER HAD 2 STRIKES, THE BATTER SWINGS AND FOULS THE BALL DIRECTLY BACK TO MY CATCHER,MY CATCHER CAUGHT THE BALL (NOT OVER THE BATTERS HEAD). THE UMPIRE SAID HE IS NOT OUT.HE HAS 1 TO WASTE. BUT THE RULE BOOK SAYS HE IS OUT ON THE FINAL STRIKE. WOULDN'T THAT BE A FINAL STRIKE? IT IS IN ALL OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. PLEASE CLARIFY THANK YOU DENNIS |

| April 18, 2023 Advil Knight | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Batters Box Rule Dave I have a question about the batters box... Batter starts in the box hitting right handed. The pitcher pitches 2 balls. So the count is 3-1. The batter asks for time out. The umpire grants the time out. The batter then steps across home plate to the left handed hitters box.In SSUSA is that an out? Most softball organizations the rule is you must step out of the hitters box and go behind the catcher to enter the hitters box from the appropriate side. Is this also true with SSUSA Rules? |

We use that exact ball in our Senior League in The City of Rancho Cucamonga Ca. (So Cal). In the winter it's not bad. In the heat it's soft and doesn't fly anything like the Stote or the Rock. Obliviously the Rock is the best but this ball Baden Fire is weak. It breaks down in the heat quickly. |

He gave advice without anything in return. He loved the game, the players whether you were on his team or against his team.
