Discussion: Field players using mitts instead of a gloves on defense.

The bottom line is don't hit the ball to a player hit the gaps and the glove is no longer an issue.

Discussion: Pitching screen preferences

I would think that the straight one would be best, I know that's what they use in Fla. Only need for L shaped is for overhand pitching plus you run the risk of walking into the area that's not covered and getting beaned. My two cents

Discussion: wanting to buy a safenet bp pitching screen

I have the pitch safe and love it very durable and portable. There is a guy that makes one very very similar to the pitch safe but his has wheels on it, not sure who he is.

Discussion: Is it time for Full Time Screen?

We played with the option to use the screen at the villages tournament, some did some chose not to. I didn't mind it only complaint was when playing the outfield you needed to adjust some to see the batter. Definitely saved some pitchers though.

Discussion: Shin guards

I use motorcross shin guards they are pretty decent, also I know a lot of pitchers have been using ice hockey shin guards. For first base maybe try field hockey shin guards for mobility.

Discussion: Miken PT vs Dudley

I bought the Miken PT Macenko (Orange One) broke in 60-70 swings, I have the Dudley lightening end load (blue one) with probably 300 plus on it and still going. But that Miken was smoking hot while it lasted but never made it to the field.

Discussion: weight training

I tend to back it down on the heavy stuff during the season for just that reason, flexibility. Off season well for Sr ball really isn't much of an off season anyway. I would suggest some type of crossfit regimen you can still
Lift as heavy as you want and can maintain flexibility. Summer time I tend to cut back on heavy weight and opt for high reps lower weight just for the beach.

Discussion: Pitchers Chest Protection

When i was pitching I would wear an EVO SHIELD chest protector, its like a compression T-Shirt and you slide the protective plate (once its formed to your body) into the shirt. It protects the heart and the ribs. Very comfortable and you don't realize its even there.

Discussion: Clean vs Dirty

From my understanding all you need to do is have a damp rag and wipe the barrel, it keeps it tacky (supposed to help put spin on the ball) not sure about that. I never wipe mine off and hit just fine with it, so I suppose its individual preference.
