I am responding to Bob Mitchell's Open Letter (An Open Letter to Players, January 2000). Thanks for dealing with the issue of running the sport as a business.

I have heard the complaints, especially when I ran the SSWC Albuquerque Qualifier, but I chalk it up to the fact that many people have not run a business ˆ or a tournament. If they did, they would know that you don't make much money after you give away good awards, pay umpires and rent fields.
