("Qualifying Roster" events), you may not add players with a higher equivalent skill rating than the rating of the team seeking to add them ... The Eastern and Western Nationals are qualifying roster tournaments and are the feeder events to the USA National Championship games ... They have been such for a couple of decades ... The numerous other "compass-point" events you mention, like NE, NW, S, N, SW, MW, NorCal, SoCal, TX, Reno, etc., would be problematic, at best, to incorporate into a single USA National game during the seeding rounds of the World Championships ... All teams east of the Mississippi River are eligible to enter the Eastern's, and the converse is true for those on the western side ... In addition, there are 17 central USA states from which teams may choose to enter either the Eastern's or Western's ... The pathway to playing for the USA National title runs through Northern Virginia and Northern California ... Good luck to everyone! ... |
