A good friend of mine in Washington DC is on President Bush's council for fitness. What he is telling me is that they have noticed the explosive growth in Senior softball and they are going to recommend changes to the game in order to increase the fitness of seniors across the board. Their recommendations which will be sent to the various organizations will include the following. 1.) Increase the length of bases to 80 feet acroos all skill levels and age groups. 2.) Elimination of the courtesy runner in order to promote cardiovascular health benefits to all seniors. From what I'm being told funding could be withheld if these changes aren't adopted by the end of the year, the Bush administration feels this will cement their legacy.
More like encase some in cement, 6 feet under. some barely make it the 65 feet is is now. Will bring about more heart attacks, and in the long run more complaints than ever. Bush couldn't even throw a ball well the other day, sure it was ceremonial so what. He'll be gone shortly and another, for better or worse. Maybe they could rename it weapon of massive base running. sorry
Joe, that is a laugh. Happy fools day.
I think it's more about the knees than the heart.

Yea, and I heard that in order to cut down on possible injuries to pitchers, batters will need to hold the bat between their butt cheeks. Then they will be allowed to hit up the middle.
Joe, it seems to me that the White House 'intelligence' is clearly lacking on this and no one can blame Richard Clarke... perhaps they could appoint someone to oversee the rules committee. My suggestion is that it not be John Ashcroft as he's the only man (that I'm aware of) to lose an election to a corpse.
Taits: I saw on ESPN the replays of all of the presidents that threw out the 'first pitch' and GWB looked the best (5-6 years ago). FDR was among the worst... JFK looked fairly athletic as well. Truman, Clinton and elder Bush were the only leftists that I saw... this began with WHT in 1910.

Hey Joe,
How you doin'?
I hope well.
Not much leaves me speechless
but the President's Council for Fitness
wants to weigh in on Senior Softball?
I say we got it under control, thank you very much
and I'm sure they can find more responsible ways
to help/serve us, all of us.
Or maybe they can't/don't want to and that's why
they want to get into OUR stuff.
I'm calling BS. And I feel bad for the people that fell for it.
do you really feel that anyone fell for this? If you do, I feel badly for you.
BW
It appears to me someone fell for it.
Hey Guys,
Call me an April fool but
I got a chance to say hi to a friend
and make an important comment.
Not a bad trade, from here.
First off I want to apoligize if I offended anyone, I was attempting to interject a little humor, probably a lesson learned on my end, I had someone at work yesterday tell me that Mr. Lyon was trying to reach me and when I dialed the number it was the Las Vegas zoo. Hopefully everyone had a chance to have a well intentioned gag played on them, when done properly lightens up the day.
Joe, Mr. Baer called you too!
